1:42 pm: "I just spoke with the TD and believe I was successfully able to convince him to abolish the rule. The problems that could have arised are numerous."

          Title: An Odd Situation
Log: At one of the tables, a pot was raised pre-flop and there was one caller. The action got to the big blind, who then realized he had only been dealt one card. The tournament director gave him the option of playing with the one card or folding. He stated that by New Jersey law, he could not be given the top card, since there had already been action. The player decided to muck his one card. The pot was then checked down between the two remaining players. Oddly enough, if the big blind would have played his one card hand, he would have chopped the pot.

Everyone at the table was in good spirits about the error and laughing after the hand.

Log: World Poker Open Champion Scotty "The Train" Nguyen has just been eliminated.

The player in the 8 seat raises to $25,000 and Scotty Nguyen calls. The flop comes Kh-Qh and an offsuit 5 and Nguyen checks. Seat 8 calls with pocket jacks. The players at the table, fans on the rail, and the Borgata staff are all shocked that the 8 seat can make that call with J-J. But he did, and at the moment it's the right call. The board bricks out and the 8 seat's jacks hold up. Scotty Nguyen will not make it back to back WPT wins.
